Strawbale...? Strawbale is one of the most eco friendly forms of construction with the lowest carbon footprint. The lime-rendered walls have a R rating 4 times that of brick veneer. The crystal structure of the lime render continues to harden for centuries.

Winery only open two days per month – 1st and 2nd Sundays of most months. So, farms’ all yours…!

On farm activities:

  • walking – over 3 kms of tracks to explore along the creek or in the bush
  • mountain bikes? – why not, on the farm roads or local roads – the run down to Windellama is very popular – always take care on the roads.
  • tennis anyone? – on the regulation bush court
  • campfire …. toast your marshmellows or boil the billy under the stars and stringybark trees (winter only – not allowed during bushfire danger period
  • Notes:
  • Mobile reception not available on farm (nearest 1.6 kms away), though text may get through… Telstra only now available in winery/Vine Loft area.
  • A landline is provided – free local calls, other by reverse charge.
  • Winery tours/tasting only during normal hrs 10am – 5pm by arrangement.
  • Continental breakfast is additional cost and must be pre-arranged 3 days before arrival.

Local activities:

  • Bungonia National Park – kilometres of bushtracks and caving. Incredible Bungonia Gorge all just 25 mins away.
  • The historic Waterworks Museum houses the 1885 Appleby Brothers beam engine and many other steam driven engines.
  • Goulburn – visit the Goulburn Information Website or drop into the Visitor Centre opposite Belmore Park. Try out Goulburn’s new cycleways through parks and along the Wollondilly River.
  • Wakefield Park – racing only 15 mins away
  • Wombeyan Caves, Crookwell, Braidwood, and Canberra all within 1 hr

Enjoy the views from the front balcony while savouring a glass of Yarralaw Springs wine, evening sunsets, and the kangaroos as they migrate from the nearby bush to graze on the winery picnic grounds in the evening and morning.
